Is Adoption Resource Center (ARC) a non-profit?
- Yes, but it has has not as of yet received official status as such. That is why PayPal is not operable, and we are not seeking a donations at this time
What is ARC's position on adoption; pro, con, anti, open, closed....?
- ARC has no political ideology. It serves, supports and unite diverse organizations, groups and individuals with a variety of views and a wide range of positions within ethical adoption practices with enforceable openness as well as alternative family preservation. For instance, some organizations support registries and others are opposed to them. Some identify as adoption reformers, others do not. Some use terms such as birth mother, others do not.
The only constant and firm criteria are:
- non-commercial sites that do not profit in any way from the placement of children in non-kin situations.
- non-adoption industry related and in no way support profiteering in adoption
How much does a listing cost?
- All listings are free of charge.
If there is no advertising and listings are free, who pays to maintain this site?
- Advertising is acceptable if it meets the commercial and all other criteria for site listing.
- All initial expenses for the first year have been donated the site creator and the webmaster, who has also donated, and will continue to donate in-kind by working many hours pro-bono to set up, constantly update and maintain the site.
- Once ARC receives non-profit status those who wish to contribute may have the opportunity to do so.
Why do requests for site submission, editing or deleting require the identify of the submitter?
- The ensure that no one edits the description of, or deletes, a site that is not theirs.
Why was my site listed without my knowledge or consent?
- Some sites were added as "samples" when the site was just starting out. Others are added by web surfing or were previously known. All public sites are public domain and the listing of your site is to your advantage as it is a FREE traffic-driving devise. However, if you wish it to be removed for any reason, simply drop us a line and request that it be deleted.
Why did my site disappear?
- Updates to the layout of the site may occasionally result in an accidental deletion. If this should occur, please resubmit.
Who is responsible for updating links?
- While the webmaster will make every effort to keep links current, if your has changed, or you notice one that no longer works or is inaccurate in any way, PLEASE let us know.
What can I do to help? Do you acceot donations?
- Volunteer to be on the Peer Review Committee
- Volunteer to help construct a comprehensive book bibliography
- Spread the word.
Donations are not being sought or accepted at ttis time for two reasons:
- All costs for the firts year of operation have been donated by the creator/webmster
- We are not yet a 501c non-profit
