American Adoption Congress The American Adoption Congress comprises individuals, families and organizations committed to adoption reform. We represent those whose lives are touched by adoption or other loss of family continuity. We promote honesty, openness and respect for family connections in adoption, foster care and assisted reproduction. We provide education for our members and professional communities about the lifelong process of adoption. We advocate legislation that will grant every individual access to information about his or her family and heritage. The AAC is committed to: * Increasing public awareness about the realities of adopted life for birth and adoptive families * Changing public policies related to adoption practices in order to acknowledge adoption as an extension of family * Enacting legislation in all states that guarantees access to identifying information for all adopted persons and their birth and adoptive families through records access and preservation of open adoption agreements * Facilitating birth family reunification for all adopted adults, without prior restraint, through search and support group networking and/or social service assistance |

Ethica Ethica is a nonprofit corporation that seeks to be an impartial voice for ethical adoption practices worldwide, and provides education, assistance, and advocacy to the adoption and foster care communities. In order to maintain an impartial voice: * Ethica does not accept donations from adoption agencies or other entities that place children for adoption. * Ethica’s staff, volunteers, and Board of Directors consists of persons who have an interest in ethical adoption practices, but are not currently affiliated with agencies or other entities that place children for adoption * Ethica strives to develop organizational policy and recommendations based solely on the basic ethical principles underlying best practices in adoption and the best interests of children. |

Evan B. Donaldson Adoption Institute The Evan B. Donaldson Adoption Institute, founded in 1996, is a national not-for-profit organization devoted to improving adoption policy and practice. Our Mission The Adoption Institute's mission is to provide leadership that improves adoption laws, policies and practices - through sound research, education and advocacy - in order to better the lives of everyone touched by adoption. In order to achieve its goals, the Institute conducts and synthesizes research; offers education to inform public opinion; promotes ethical practices and legal reforms; and works to translate policy into action. |

Through NCCPR, we work to make that system better serve America's most vulnerable children by trying to change policies concerning child abuse, foster care and family preservation. NCCPR advocates for systemic reform. We regret that we cannot provide advice in dealing with individual cases. |

Open Adoption Support Open Adoption Support is a grass roots site for individuals and families living in or in support of open adoption. It is for first parents, adoptive parents and adoptees and exists to offer support and information around openness. It is not affiliated with any other organization or agency and its only agenda is to support openness in adoption. |
